Obituary for Tykeem Franklin

On July 18, 1996, Tykeem D'Majh Franklin was born to Waide Franklin and LaSonya (Nix) Adams in Gadsden, Alabama.

Tykeem dedicated his life to Christ at a young age. He matriculated through Madison City Schools and graduated from James Clemens High School in 2014 where he earned an Advanced Academic Diploma. He was accepted into and attended Tennessee State University studying Electrical Engineering. Tykeem has always been athletic and played various sports since childhood but basketball was his passion. He played in several AAU Basketball Leagues in addition to leading his high school basketball team in many championships. He was currently employed with Fergusons in Nashville, Tennessee.

On Thursday, July 16, 2020, Tykeem entered into his eternal rest. He was welcomed by his grandmothers Jenett Lowe, Mirian Franklin Cobb, Eliza Duncan Woods, his grandfathers Bobby Perrin, Harold Sandridge, and his aunties Tawana (Angie) Lowe Carter and Jennifer (Nae) Lowe.

Tykeem leaves to cherish his memories: His parents LaSonya and (George) Adams III of Antioch, Tennessee and Waide and (Temeika) Franklin of Gadsden, Alabama; four siblings Tajh Franklin of Huntsville, Alabama, Dareial Franklin of Birmingham, Alabama, Kai and Nyla Franklin of Gadsden, Alabama, Ashley Adams of Athens, Alabama and Tavaris Evans of Huntsville, Alabama; special nephew Rocki Josiah Franklin; grandparents Carolyn Sandride of Gadsden, Alabama, Anthony Madden of Gadsden, Alabama, Wilma Waddle of Madison, Alabama, Ronnie Lauderdale of Columbus, Ohio and Robert Nix of Birmingham, Alabama; godparents Tomasina Brown Smitherman, Ali Smith, and Stanado Brown; and a host of uncles, aunts, special cousins, other relatives and many friends.
