Life Story for Mr. Nathan Dean

Life Story

Staff Sergeant Nathan Dean, a Disabled Vietnam War Veteran, age 79, passed away at Birmingham VA Hospital on April 25, 2021. He was a combat soldier on the grounds fighting and protecting alongside with his comrades in the Army. He was a beautiful and brave person inside and out. His love of riding motorcycles was amazing. He also belonged to the Lucky 711 motorcycle club for over 30 years. He truly cared about each and every member of the club. He was a kind-hearted, respectful, and gentle soul to all that he came across throughout his life. His memory, life, and legacy will never be forgotten and will always be cherished forever.

Nathan Dean was born on February 7, 1942, in Limestone County. Alabama to the late Dora Lockett and the late West Kelly Dean. He was married to Vonetta Williams Dean and they shared together two precious children, Nivea Dean and Michael Dean. Nathan had five brothers: James (JoAnn) Kelly of Cleveland, OH and David (Colleen) Kelly of Columbus, OH, and the late John Dean, Willie Dean, Robert Dean. He also had five sisters: Carolyn (Columbus) Waddle of Madison, AL, Lucy Harris of Greenbrier, AL, and Betty Otey of Cleveland, OH, and the late Mary Baker and Mattie Dean. He also leaves: four aunts, Marie (Carl) Jefferson of Madison, AL, Linda Lockett of Madison AL, Ida Mae (George) Harris of Indianapolis, IN, and Fannie Kelly of Madison, AL; an uncle, Robert (Diane) Lockett of Chicago, IL; and all his beloved nieces and nephews, cousins, and other family and friends everywhere.
