Obituary for Mr. Jerome T. Marks

Jerome Terrence Marks was born March 31, 1963, to Bennie Byrd, Jr., and Patricia M. Townsend in Huntsville, AL.

He was preceded in death by his father, Bennie Byrd, Jr.; grandmothers, Emma Flax and Minister Mary Marks; and grandfathers, Bennie Byrd, Sr., and Samuel Marks.

Jerome accepted Christ at a young age and joined Abounding Love Ministries. He graduated from Butler High School in 1982, and he also graduated from Masters Beauty School.

He was loved by everyone that he encountered. His smile was infectious. He was vibrant, fearless, loving, adventurous and an outgoing man. He was known by his family as “Uncle T”.

Jerome leaves to cherish his memory: three daughters, Tryphaena Marks (Jeremy Woodard) of Rockford, IL, Porsche Bean-Marks of Murfreesboro, TN, and Jayna Marks of Vicksburg, MS; two sons, Adairious Marks (Aisha Marks) of Huntsville, AL, and Xavier Marks of Vicksburg, MS; four grandsons, Martavian Marks, Amere Woodard, Amaya Woodard, and Zaydden “Papi” Bean-Bryson; mother, Patricia Townsend and father, Edmon Battle, Jr., both Huntsville, AL; Best friend, Willie L. Hammonds; a special friend, Linda Martin; four sisters, Pamela Leslie (Darvin Leslie), Diane Battle, both of Huntsville, AL, Angela Byrd and Tammy Byrd of Detroit, MI; two brothers, Bennie Byrd, III, and Fred Byrd, both of Detroit, MI; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
