In Loving Memory of
Mary Edwina Cooke-Hite
Dec. 12, 1978 – Oct. 24, 2020

Mary Edwina Cooke-Hite, wife of Kerjhe Hite was born December 12, 1978 in Jacksonville, North Carolina to the late Charles Edward Cooke and Wilma Wiley Cooke. In her early years Mary accepted Christ and united with First Mount Zion Baptist Church in Dumfries VA. After marriage they joined First Missionary Baptist Church in Huntsville Alabama. As the daughter of a military member, she was educated by a number of schools and graduated from the International School of Bangkok in Bangkok, Thailand.
In 2005, Mary married Kerjhe Hite and from that union were born the joys of her life, Judah Alexander(7), and Arieh Charles(4). Mary loved everything that involved her children, family and friends. Using her retail talents and MBA in International Business degree earned at UCLA, she established her own online children’s apparel boutique KHM Collections. She was an avid reader, loved to travel, study GOD’s word and give herself to others. Kindness and generosity are Mary ‘s most admirable traits. She was never into sports until her family and especially her boys were part of it. Then she was the loudest supporter on the sidelines. Her greatest joy came in being a volunteer for Meals on Wheels with her church. This gave her a chance to give back and to teach her boys about the true meaning of service.
Mary left a legacy of love for her family. She leaves to cherish her memory a devoted husband, Kerjhe Hite, Madison, AL; two sons, Judah and Arieh, Madison, AL; a loving mother, Wilma Wiley Cooke, Madison, AL; Grandfather , Willie Frank Wiley Sr. Americus, GA; devoted in-laws, Leon and Bobrie Hite, Harvest, AL; a loving uncle Willie Frank Wiley, Jr, Americus, GA; and many loving aunts, cousins and close family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, please either make a donation to the American Heart Association or the Mary Cooke-Hite Memorial Fund at Redstone Federal Credit Union.

To: Aunt Wilma, Kerjhe, Judah and Arieh. Our hearts go out to you all. We are heartbroken over Mary. With sincere condolences. I am so devastated over this. It has been very tough for me because last year my sister Rita died from the same thing as Mary did. It's very painful. Mary was a sweet woman. She was beautiful inside and out, with a beautiful heart and a loving Spirit. There are no words to say right now to comfort you all. I want you to know we are here for you. Only words of God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ can comfort you. Jesus said..."I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Me, even though they die, will live, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die." John 11: 25,26. Heaven gained an angel when Mary passed away. She may have left this earth. She will be with you everyday. So may you find some comfort in knowing she will always be a part of every moment in your life because you now have an angel in your heart. I know Mary and Rita are skipping through heaven together singing praises to God in Jesus name. We shall see her again. Love, Monika and my son Steven Hall. I never met Mary in person and yet I feel her passing as if I had. She was such a beautiful soul...kind, intelligent, ambitious, generous, thoughtful and so sweet. I’m thinking of her family and loved ones and sending love and light. I hope that her boys grow up hearing how wonderful their mom was every single day. Condolences from the Thomas Family in Germany.

I knew Mary mainly through Meals on Wheels. When I would make the schedule, her flexibility was always a great help. She was a joyful, faithful, and willing volunteer who was a true blessing to me, the Meals on Wheels staff, and especially to everyone to whom she delivered meals, She will be remembered and missed. Prayers for her family and loved ones.
