Obituary for Louis Twitty

Louis “Dickie” Twitty passed away on February 16, 2023, at 3:39 pm in the comfort of his home surrounded by loved ones
.
Born on March 27, 1941, to Mandy Johnson Twitty and Oscar Twitty Sr. in Limestone, Alabama.
He confessed hope in Christ under the leadership of the late George Franklin Sr. and joined St Andrews P.B. Church and later moved his membership to Moses Chapel PB Church under the leadership of Pastor Joe L. Hereford.

Mr. Twitty is proceeded in death by his parents: Mandy and Oscar Twitty Sr., brothers: Thomas, Frank, Oscar Jr. Willie, and Melvin Twitty, and great grandson: Khari Robertson.

Louis attended Limestone County Schools, upon finishing high school he joined the U. S. Army in 1959 after completing four years of duty he re-enlisted for four more years where he was honorably discharged. He later went on and obtained an associate degree in trucking from the University of Akron in Akron Ohio. After completing this task, he purchased his first truck and named it “Disco Lady.” He also loved bowling.

Louis’ memories will forever be cherished by his loving and faithful companion of twenty- two years Cathleen Miller Twitty; two daughters: Roshonda Pittman of Akron Ohio, and Stormy Miller of Huntsville Alabama; three sons: Louis Jr. (Hillary) Brooks of Akron Ohio, Zachery Miller, Corey (Kesha) Lanier of Huntsville Alabama; and a special granddaughter: Miracle Fletcher, whom he named; four sisters: Rosie Pickett (Roger), Ocie Crutcher of Athens, Alabama, Mattie Lockhart of Akron Ohio and Delois (Kenzi) of Barberton Ohio; twelve grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren. Louis was blessed with an abundance of extended family in the Miller, McCaulley and the Pride families, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.
