I just found out that Ms Breach passed away. My heart is broken. She was a great teacher to many of us at Calhoun, c/o 2002. She once pulled me aside and asked if I was using drugs! “Girl, why are you always in here looking tired and dark all around the eyes? What’s wrong with you?” I told her that I was anemic and she told me exactly what to do. “Go get your some prenatal vitamins. Start 1/2 pill tonight and the next night, and one every night after.” I did, and I felt better. When I saw her in Walmart, Oct, 2017, she said “you need to start back taking your vitamins. I can tell that you’re off. You’re looking dark around the eyes again.” Lol. She was brutally honest, and to say that I dot all my I’s and cross all of my T’s because of her is an understatement! She used to tell us she’d blow up our documentation in court and ask us to show her where we chatted that we did something. She also told me that I should’ve gone into comedy instead of nursing. She will be missed. My condolences to her family. ❤️

1995 I was in Ms. Breach morning clinicals. I was running late as usual I attempted to walk in our meeting room and she said girlfriend where do you think you’re going. I’m thinking ok I’m not that late. Ms. Breach said with those shoes that are supposed to be white. Never again did I show up with dirty shoes. Many life lessons taught and learned from this great woman. She encouraged me to stay the course and not only complete the LPN program but also complete the RN program. She was sharp, witty, funny, compassionate and so much more!

I have many fond memories of being in her nursing classes at Calhoun in 1989, she was a great teacher, full of love and laughter. I remember giving my first injection at Parkway Medical Center, during clinical and she said, "Okay now girlfriend, tell me what you
about to do." I looked at her and she looked at me, because I had given the injection as instructed, but she turned to answer a question from another student, so she missed it! We laughed about that many times, I loved her and learned so much, not just about Nursing but life in general. May she rest in peace!!
