Obituary for James "Steve" Stephens

Mr. James Madison Stephens, Jr., was born April 9, 1957, in Columbus, Georgia, to the late
Mr. James Madison Stephens and the late Mrs. Ida Mae Walton-Stephens.
Mr. James M. Stephens, Jr., was a member of Sweet Gum Grove Missionary Baptist Church as a young
man. James attended Hugh M. Cummings High School and decided to advance his career at Almance
Tech and Ashworth College and went on to enlist in the United States Army, in which he served many
years.
Mr. James M. Stephen, Jr., leaves to cherish his memories: his loving and devoted daughter, Tateaona
N, Beasley (Kenneth); loving and devoted son, Marcus S. Beasley; a son, which he helped raise, Courtney D.
Beasley (Stormi); three very special grandchildren that he adored, Logan Ellison, Ayden Ellison, and Ari
Ellison, all of Huntsville, AL; two brothers, Joseph Stephens (Regina) of Apex, NC, and Wilton Stephens
of Burlington, NC; three nephews, Joseph Stephens II, Jonathan Stephens, and Wilton Stephens; one niece,
Samirah Stephens; two great-nephews and two great nieces; a best friend, which he considered a brother,
Erwin (EJ) Cosey, Jr.; a friend, Pete Friend; a special friend, Georgia Scott; and a host of other relatives and
friends
