Celebration of Life for Ms. Betty Jean Jones

Ms. Betty Jean Jones was born August 22, 1958 in Dawson. GA to the late Mrs. Bessie Kate
Leary and the late Mr. Lonnie Leary.
Betty passed this life on October 2, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital.
Betty was baptized at an early age at a Pentecostal Church in Louisiana. Betty studied and
graduated in the Terrell County Public School System, where she received her High School
Diploma. After High School, Betty married her former husband Aaron Jones, Sr. They were
stationed in Germany, Washington State, Georgia, Louisiana, finally settling in Huntsville, AL.
From that union they birthed four children. Betty lived her life as a homemaker and community
mom. Many called her Mama Betty. She enjoyed cooking, dancing, shopping and raising her
family.
Betty was preceded in death by her siblings John Lee Leary and Lonnie Leary of Dawson, GA.,
and grandson Jashawn L. Douglas of Huntsville, AL.
Betty leaves to cherish her loving memories former husband Aaron (Marion) Jones Sr. of
Germany; three daughters, Jennifer Douglas; Tracy (Cleveland) Jackson; Lashonda Jones all of
Huntsville, AL; one son Aaron (Tadeija) Jones Jr. of Huntsville, AL. bonus daughter Brandi
Douglas of Huntsville, AL; sisters Linda (Bobby) McClendon and Lorrain Leary; brothers Robert
(Annie Jean) Leary, Jimmy (Mildred) Leary, John (Linda Sue) Leary and Willie Leary; twelve
grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
