Obituary for Andrea Brezzell

Evangelist Andrea Catrice (Lewis) Brezzell was born on November 16th. 1966 in Pontiac Michigan to the late Louis Jean Thompkins, biological father Frank Russell and Ira Lazell Thompkins. Andrea who is affectionately known as Trece by her friends and family gave her life to Christ at a very young age. Trece never wavered or faltered her belief in the power of the Almighty. Andrea attended Frank Cody high school in Detroit MI where she was a star in the choir and ran on the track team. After High school Andrea attended Wayne State University where she received her bachelor of arts in criminal justice. Andrea obtained several jobs while she was attending college. She was the secretary of City Temple church for many years and also worked as a paralegal at a prestigious law firm. In 1993 she met the love of her life David A Brezzell who she married on August 5, 1994. From that union, Andrea gave birth to her two loving children Precious and Ira Brezzell. Andrea moved to Huntsville Alabama in 2000 where she pursued her desire to teach. She later started a successful in-home health care business “Anointed Health Care LLC” where she warmed the lives of many individuals. Andrea had a way of touching everyone she encountered with her loving kind spirit, uplifting messages and infectious smile. She was a devoted member of the Eastern star fraternity lodge 778 in Huntsville, Al. Andrea had a 10 year battle with breast cancer in which she never let it get her down. She remained a steadfast fighter with a “keep it moving” attitude. Andrea found a way to pray and even sing for others when she was at her sickest. On July 17th 2020 God called her home. She patterned her life after the love of Christ and her mission was to exude his love, grace, and mercy to others. She is survived by her loving husband David Brezzell, her loving children Precious Brezzell and Ira Brezzell, Her son in law Jonathan Toney, Her beautiful granddaughters Joy Toney and Jewel Toney, her wonderful sister Krystal Harrison, and sisters Pamela Russell, Tamera Russell, Marian Russell, her special niece Kaila, mother in law Joyce Brezzell, sister and brother in laws and a host of family and friends that she adopted in love as her own.

Andrea’s favorite bird was the humming bird hummingbirds are a reminder that our happiness lies within us. Only when we accept that there are bitter parts to life, will we be able to allow our inner peace to grow, which in turn, gives us the freedom to enjoy the sweet side of life.
Just look at the tiny, insignificant hummingbird, who everyday finds delicious nectar deep within the tough, bitter parts of the flower.
